Healing Justice is a framework that identifies how we can holistically respond to and intervene on generational trauma and violence and to bring collective practices that can impact and transform the consequences of oppression on our collective bodies, hearts and minds. Healing Justice responds to conditions of a systemic pattern of abuse and oppression that reinforces the controlling of our bodies/wellness/systems/cultures

--Cara Page of Kindred Southern Justice Healing Collective

At these events we'll discuss the intersection of healing justice values with yoga principles and ideas.

How is a liberated and decolonized yoga including breathing, meditation, and mindsets helpful to a healing justice practice? And acknowledging how whitewashed and commodified yoga perpetuates systems of harm, how can healing justice guide our yoga practices and facilitiation?

SEYN Fall Gathering: Yoga and the Roots of Healing Justice - Environmental Justice

Come dig into what's happening with environmental justice in Chicago and beyond. This is especially relevant as we are impacted by pollution, development, and environmental racism in the city of Chicago, and face climate disaster on a global level. How do nature connection and a healing justice paradigm support our yoga and spiritual practice, and how does yoga practice support our nature connection and healing justice care of the environment?

Honor land, community, self with a special opening ritual from community organizer and spiritual healer Cristina Puzio

Engage with compelling ideas around ecology, spirituality, and climate justice with a panel of organizers and healers including yoga leader and urban ecologist Mila K. Marshall, and creativity and yoga facilitator Chanti Tacorante-Perez.

Dive deeper and make new connections in the break out sessions.

Integrate and embody with an accessible yoga practice from Chanti, including breathing and meditation.

Connect with culturally relevant yoga resources for continued support, and/or plug in to environmental justice work if you haven’t already.
